CHARLES GIBSON won an Academy Award¨ for Best Visual Effects for the beloved family hit "Babe." He previously collaborated with Gore Verbinski on "Mouse Hunt," and counts among his other credits "Murder By Numbers," "The Majestic" "Dr. T and the Women," "The Green Mile," "The Story of Us," "Mouse Hunt," "Kazaam," "Stay Tuned" and "Flight of the Intruder." His work behind the camera also includes serving as the second unit director on "The Ring," as well as "Cats & Dogs" and "The Green Mile."
Gibson has been an innovator in digital visual effects and character animation since the early 1980s. In 1987, he co-founded the visual effects and animation house Rhythm & Hues Studios, which produced visual effects sequences for such films as "Speed 2: Cruise Control," "Batman & Robin," "The Nutty Professor," "Waterworld" and "Hocus Pocus." Rhythm & Hues also created the animated polar bears for the popular series of Coca-Cola commercials.
